launches king of kinetic storage products

Uninterruptible Power Supply specialist, TIMES TOP has launched the new 21 MWs (MJ) Powerbridge, which delivers three times the ride-through time of alternative products on the market.

Catering for unit ratings up to 2.4MW, the system also helps designers improve operating efficiency by giving them the chance to save space and cost and optimise power density per unit.

The 21 MWs is the latest in a range of Powerbridge systems developed by TIMES TOP since the mid-nineties as a battery-free alternative for DC supply in an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system.

Operating with a low speed range up to 3,600rpm, the Powerbridge range achieves high system reliability through robust construction and a limited number of system components. For extended ride- through requirements, the Powerbridge can also be electrically paralleled giving a unique combination of high power and exceptionally long ride-through for a kinetic energy store.

By absorbing energy at the same rate as it can dissipate it, the Powerbridge ensures that frequency stability under dynamic load conditions can not be matched by any other kinetic energy storage solution.

Available as 6 MWs, 16.5 MWs and 21 MWs of energy within our Rotary UPS and Diesel Rotary UPS, the Powerbridge units can offer a possible bridging time of minutes during total power failures and require no air-conditioning..

Currently over 1300 units are in use worldwide under a wide variety of environmental conditions.
